48th World Congress of Surgery 2019 to kick off in Krakow

KRAKOW, Poland: The International Society of Surgery (ISS) / Société Internationale de Chirurgie (SIC) is proud to present the 48th World Congress of Surgery (WCS) - formerly International Surgical Week (ISW)—in Poland from 11-15 August. The WCS is a biannual meeting which provides a platform for the education of surgeons, surgical trainees, medical students, and members of surgical teams from across the globe.

Engaging and insightful, the World Congress of Surgery 2019 will be unlike any other meeting. Offering scientific excellence in the field of surgery at an affordable price, the event will bring together many of the world’s leading experts. WCS 2019 will also provide a platform for scientific and clinical working groups where they can collaborate to establish the foundations for future diagnostic and surgical challenges, and discuss novel approaches and standards, facilitating progress towards real-time, patient-oriented solutions.

An exciting series of named lectures will again be delivered by world-renowned experts in their respective fields. Postgraduate courses and workshops will focus on acquisition of knowledge and skills through best practices in education and training methods. More than 60 main sessions on relevant topics will be offered. The scientific program will include surgical research presentations and posters. Video-based education sessions will showcase surgical procedures.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) will be available for most sessions. Certificates of Verification will be provided for postgraduate courses.
